Frequently Asked Questions

What is involved in my initial visit?

At the first visit, I will examine your pet and review my findings with you, as well as go over any medical records that you or your primary care doctor has submitted. We will discuss your concerns and goals for your pet and the available treatment options. If time permits, an initial treatment will be performed once agreed upon.

I will assess the home environment and recommend any modifications that may help them navigate these areas. I will also review your pet’s diet and supplements and make recommendations for changes if needed.

How are treatment plans developed?

There are many factors to consider for your pet. Plans will vary depending on the severity and chronicity of the medical concern, as well as the overall long-term goals. Some clients may be looking for their pet to be able to comfortably take a 10–15-minute walk, and rise easily from rest without pain, while other clients may have a sporting pet that needs conditioning to return to competition.

Do you offer vaccines or other general practice medical visits?

I do not offer vaccines or general medical services. If you do not currently have a relationship with a general practice veterinarian in your area, I can always provide recommendations. We have an amazing veterinary community in our area that can meet these needs for you!

What animals do you treat?

I treat cats and dogs. Feel free to contact me about other small mammals or exotics and if I feel I can help, I will try! While I do not treat horses, I know some amazing colleagues who do, and I am happy to make recommendations.

What areas do you service?

I am based in Belleview, Florida and provide care from Ocala to the Villages. Consultations and treatments are by appointments offered Monday through Friday. I will work with your primary care veterinarian to coordinate the best treatment options for your pet.
